KAJAL RAJU
Kajal Raju is a Bollywood-fusion dancer and choreographer based in Los Angeles, CA. She comes from a diverse dance background, with training in a variety of Indian and Western styles including Bollywood, Bharatynatyam, contemporary, modern, ballet, and jazz funk. Kajal currently trains in one of LA's top industry dance programs under Cameron Lee, and is pursuing commercial dance with the goal of showcasing the breadth and diversity of South Asian dance styles in predominantly Western spaces. She danced professionally for the Honey Bees, the official dance team of the NBA’s Charlotte Hornets, and was the first South Asian woman to dance for the team. Kajal graduated from UC Davis with a degree in Theatre & Dance, with specializations in Performance and Choreography studies. While pursuing her undergraduate degree, Kajal was captain and female lead dancer of Lashkara, UC Davis’s Hindi Film Dance Team. She led Lashkara to a national title and won multiple awards as a lead dancer, including Legends’ Best Female Dancer and Bollywood America’s Standout Dancer of the decade.
