Boundless by Amita is a dance-centric storytelling company founded by Amita Batra with one goal: to exemplify the idea that art extends beyond man-made constructs & that the possibilities are indeed boundless. Rooted in Kathak, the Indian Classical art of Storytelling, modern contemporary dance, theater, and more Boundless by Amita brings to life stories without ever saying a word while connecting multiple disciplines of intersectional dance, music, theater, and technology in the process.

Amita Batra is a story-driven artist who wholeheartedly believes in the boundless nature of art with respect to those both who practice it and those who consume it.
Formally rooted in Kathak, the Indian classical art of storytelling and balletic styles, Amita is an explorer of the technical intersect between the two with an emphasis on using movement as a language for storytelling. In addition to dance, Amita thoroughly enjoys character work and improv, formally having worked with the Groundlings program for character-based improv.

Classes led by Amita are rooted in the Boundless Method- an original methodology that explores moving with intention or purpose before thinking about the shapes our bodies make, using the soul and body to guide us before our brains get involved. in other words, the class is geared towards how movement feels in one’s own body as opposed to looking like one another. as a student of any of these classes, you will learn how to utilize your own body language in a way that expresses your own story. no experience required to attend class. just a desire to dance and express yourself.

Here at Boundless, we believe that art should not have to be a privilege but a fundamental right built into our education systems. Unfortunately, that is not always the case, especially in many other parts of the world, where economic status plays a major role in one’s ability to have a voice in art or even have the tools to learn it. Aiming to pilot in India, a portion of profits earned from Boundless are being saved in order to fund arts education for underprivileged children: The Boundless Education Initiative. A work in progress, the goal is to build beautiful studio spaces just for these children and provide them the tools to learn & express once the proper funds and means exist.
