About the Director/Choreographer
Amita Batra is a story-driven movement artist rooted in Kathak, the Indian Classical Art of Storytelling and modern/contemporary movement with a belief in the universality of the human experience and that the boundless nature of art helps us uncover it.
Notable Credits include YRF’S DDLJ Musical (Hardipa/Ensemble, Dir. Aditya Chopra), NY BAF Aladdin (Choreographer), Grammy-nominated Radhika Vekaria (Artist Choreographer), Amit Patel & Ishika Seth’s Unearthed: Untold Stories of the Ramayana (Sita/Co-Choreographer), Nisha at NBC-Universal (Artist Choreographer), ETDC’s NC Grant for INERTIA having premiered at Martha Graham Theater (Choreographer), and more.
Originally hailing from Houston, TX, Amita has experienced life in a wife variety of cities around the world which influences her understanding of humanity. Currently, Amita lives in LA, where she is working in the realm of comic acting and improv comedy. She is a part of the Lume Contemporary Collective, while continuing to create work through Boundless
